In general, travel conditions of the Russian Federation
can be applied.
SAS provides return flights from Copenhagen to Kaliningrad
six times a week (1-5, 7). The city offers air services to Moscow,
St Petersburg and other cities in Russia and CIS. Kaliningrad
can be reached by rail and road from Berlin (the distance
from the eastern German border is about 600 km). Also, waiting
time at the Russian-Polish border should be borne in mind.
There is ferry haul service with Kiel city as well.
There are medium and good hotels and restaurants in Kaliningrad.
Hygienic conditions meet the East-European requirements.
The Region ranks first in Russia in the number of hepatitis
and AIDS infections’ victims.
With regard to the payment conditions, payment in cash
is preferred, and credit cards are very rarely used. As
a rule, there are no problems with the phone, fax, e-mail
or Internet connection. Mobile phones of the D1 and D2 -networks
are in operation.
The weather is similar to that on the German Baltic coast
but it is a little bit colder in the Kaliningrad Region.
